Dear Baba-family,
For all of us who live here, the heart of our lives at Meherabad
is Beloved Baba’s Samadhi and His loving atmosphere around it.
As many more pilgrims are coming on pilgrimage to this most
sacred place and as times are changing, there has naturally been
an increase in the ringing of cellphones around the Samadhi (and
even inside of it!). A number of pilgrims have recently made this
complaint, pointing out that ringing cellphones and people
talking on them, is extremely distracting and inappropriate to
the atmosphere at the Samadhi. With this in mind, the Meherabad
Hill Committee requests the residents to be much more aware of
the need to silence our own cellphones, not to talk on them
anywhere near the Samadhi, and to request the same of visiting
friends and others.
Pilgrims and residents also have noticed that these days there is
a lot of chatting between people standing in line for darshan or
seated on the portico benches. This happens all day long, and
particularly before evening Arti and during the singing time
after. Many of the people talking are Samadhi attendants or
residents. Naturally because of this, focus on Beloved Baba for
those standing silently in line (or sitting inside during the
day) is often disrupted. Please remember not to talk with others
when in line for darshan at the Samadhi, or when sitting outside
on the benches. As we all know, except for the fixed singing time
twice a day, this is a place of silence so that all can
concentrate solely on Beloved Baba, and it should remain so
always.
One last request: kindly consider picking up wrappers from prasad
that lie around the Samadhi and on the paths leading to and from
it, and throwing them away in the trash receptacles provided. It
would be most helpful in keeping this precious area clean.
With loving Jai Baba to all, The Meherabad Hill Committee
